Dr. Magnus B Egerstedt is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. He previously served as the Steve W. Chaddick School Chair for ECE (2018-2021) and Executive Director of the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (2016-2018). He holds secondary appointments in Mechanical Engineering, Interactive Computing, and Aerospace Engineering.
His research spans control theory, robotics, and cyber-physical systems, with emphasis on multi-robot coordination and complex network control. Egerstedt develops algorithms for autonomous systems that enable adaptive behavior in dynamic environments, particularly for mobile sensor networks and swarm robotics applications.
