Magne Brekke Rabben is an Associate Professor of Social Sciences at the Department of Teacher Education, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His research focuses on the intersection of history, technology, and social sciences, particularly within Norwegian contexts.
- Education: Completed a doctorate in History at NTNU in 2020 with the thesis Humanity, Control and Coercion – Use of Coercive Measures at the Criminal Prison and Reitgjerdet Hospital 1895–1978.
Rabben serves as a subject manager for three categories: Biographies in Norwegian Technology and Industrial History, International Technology and Industrial History, and Bicycle. He is also known for authoring the book The History of the Bicycle in Norway (2017). His work emphasizes historical analysis of social systems, technology, and institutional practices.
