Professor Maggie Dallman, OBE, is a leading immunologist and Associate Provost (Societal Engagement) at Imperial College London. Her research spans immunoregulation, inflammation, and zebrafish disease models, with key contributions to understanding autoimmune disorders, cancer metastasis, and mucosal immunity. She leads the Dallman Lab, which integrates immunology with advanced imaging technologies.
- Current roles: Associate Provost (Societal Engagement), Imperial College London
- Academic affiliations: Faculty of Natural Sciences, Cell and Developmental Biology, Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine Network
Her research explores immune responses to pathogens, inflammatory disease mechanisms (e.g., diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis), and therapeutic strategies using zebrafish models. Work includes studying cytokine functions, tumor-induced angiogenesis, and photoswitchable CRISPR tools.
Recent publications focus on nanoparticle-based cancer targeting, antiviral nanomimics, zebrafish immunology, and optical tomography innovations. Awards include the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to science and education.
- Scientific awards: Order of the British Empire (OBE)
- Lab members: PhD students Dory Pólos, Hannah Needham, Madina Wane, Ralf Wenz
