Maggie Brehm is an Associate Professor of Economics at Oberlin College's College of Arts & Sciences. She holds a PhD from Michigan State University (2016) and an A.B. in Economics and Mathematics from Bowdoin College. Her research focuses on labor economics, public economics, and education economics with emphasis on child welfare policy and foster care systems. She teaches Advanced Econometrics (ECON 355) and courses on poverty/inequality.
Her notable work includes analyzing federal tax policies' impact on foster care adoptions, published in the Journal of Human Resources (2021). Collaborative research on vaccine lottery incentives was presented at Kent State University (2021). She is on leave for 2023-24.
