Maggie Beeler is a Teaching Assistant Professor and Faculty Director of the Pitt Archaeology in Greece program at the University of Pittsburgh. She also serves as the Mediterranean Art and Archaeology Minor Coordinator. Her research focuses on social difference, intersectionality, and multiculturalism in the ancient Mediterranean, with expertise in Aegean prehistory and Bronze Age Greece.

Research Interests: Beeler employs a global perspective to highlight cross-cultural exchanges in antiquity, integrating textual and material evidence. Her work challenges Eurocentric narratives of Western civilization by emphasizing the Mediterranean's multicultural origins. She critiques racialized receptions of Greek and Roman antiquity and explores how ancient social hierarchies intersect with modern global dynamics.
Teaching & Outreach: She teaches courses on cross-cultural contact, including Late Bronze Age internationalism, Hellenistic hybridity, and Roman imperialism. Her pedagogy emphasizes critical analysis and source evaluation to foster skills applicable beyond academia.
