Magdalena Śmieja-Nęcka is a Professor at Jagiellonian University's Faculty of Philosophy, where she heads the Laboratory of Emotion and Motivation Psychology. She holds a habilitation in social sciences and professorship from Jagiellonian University.
Her research examines psychology of close relationships, emotional intelligence, and emotion processes. She developed the Emotional Intelligence Test (TIE) and authored the monograph 'In Connection with Emotional Intelligence'. Her current investigations explore emotion and disgust responses in social contexts.
Dr. Śmieja-Nęcka directs the Laboratory of Emotion and Motivation Psychology and teaches courses on emotion regulation, social cognition, and interpersonal relationships. Her research project 'Intelligent Emotion Regulation' (2010-2014) investigated adaptive emotional regulation strategies.
