Anette Karin Åbom is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Methodology, Work, Culture and Social Psychology within the Faculty of Social Sciences. She teaches seminars for the courses PSY1100 (Social Psychology) and PSYC1201 (Social Psychology).
Her research focuses on social-relational emotions and behavioral dynamics in interpersonal contexts, with expertise in:
- Kama muta (emotions of being moved) in romantic relationships
- Behaviorally driven initiatives and responses in partnerships
- Goal orientation and motivational mechanisms underlying behavioral changes
She holds a Master's degree in Health, Development, and Community Psychology (specializing in Social Psychology) and a Bachelor's in Cultural and Community Psychology, both from the University of Oslo.
Prior to academia, she worked from 2015-2022 as a psychosocial treatment specialist addressing substance abuse and relationship violence in Swedish municipalities (Göteborg and Mark). She collaborates with the Kama Muta Lab and researchers at Jagiellonian University, Poland.
