Magdalena Suchora

Dr. Magdalena Suchora is a Lecturer in the Department of Geomorphology and Paleogeography at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, Poland. She serves as coordinator of the European School of Sustainability Science and Research at UMCS and conducts research focused on paleoenvironmental reconstruction using lake sediments.

Her research interests include paleolimnology, analysis of subfossil Cladocera remains as paleogeographic indicators, sedimentology of biogenic sediments, hydrobiology, and sedimentary DNA analysis. She is an active member of multiple scientific societies including the Polish Limnological Society (since 2006), International Paleolimnology Association (since 2006), Polish Hydrobiological Society (since 2009), International Humic Substances Society (since 2016), Polish Society of Humic Substances (since 2016), British Ecological Society (from 2022), and Society of Wetland Scientists (from 2024).

Dr. Suchora's publication record shows consistent output in high-impact Quaternary science journals, with research primarily focused on Polish lake sediments to reconstruct past environmental changes across various timescales from the Late Glacial through the Holocene. Her work demonstrates strong international collaboration, particularly with researchers from Germany, Canada, and other European countries.
