Magdalena Siegel is a researcher affiliated with the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology within the Faculty of Psychology. Her work focuses on LGBTQIA+ psychology, minority stress, family dynamics, and methodological rigor in clinical research. She leads the Rainbow Austrian Longitudinal Family (RALF) study, investigating resilience factors in LGBTQ+ families. Dr. Siegel has contributed to over 50 publications and 30 academic activities, emphasizing systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and mixed-methods approaches to understand structural stigma and mental health outcomes.
Her research interests include family minority stress models, the psychological impact of legal policies on queer families, and the application of advanced statistical methods to address publication bias in psychological research. Collaborations span Europe, with notable projects addressing LGBTQ+ parents' well-being across 19 countries and the neural correlates of minority stress.
