Magda Maaoui is an Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at Harvard's Graduate School of Design (GSD), affiliated with the Joint Center for Housing Studies. Previously, she held roles as an Urban Planner at the Atelier Parisien d’Urbanisme (APUR), OECD consultant, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Paris Cité. Her work bridges academia and practice, focusing on housing policy, environmental justice, and comparative urbanism between Global North/South contexts.

Recent projects include studies on Paris' urban governance and U.S. housing crises.
Teaching: Courses include At Home and Abroad: Housing in Comparative Perspective and Urban Adaptation. Her pedagogy emphasizes historical context and critical engagement with planning practices.
