Mae Dessauvage

Mae Dessauvage is a Lecturer in the Architecture Department at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She holds an MArch from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. Her practice focuses on rethinking architectural and cultural production through typology and iconography. She has professional experience with firms Xaveer De Geyter architects, Robbrecht en Daem, and Stephane Beel architects.

Recent solo exhibitions include So Glad to Have Found It (Tatjana Pieters, Ghent), The Weight of Angels (Artspace, Richmond), and The Sleeping Hermaphrodite (The Green Corridor, Brussels). Group exhibitions include the Belgian Art & Design Fair (Ghent), PADA Studios (Barreiro), Trestle Gallery (Brooklyn), Tiger Strikes Asteroid (Philadelphia), and Kirkland Gallery (Cambridge).

Dessauvage has held residencies as the PADA Studios Resident (Barreiro, 2021) and Trestle Art Space Resident (Brooklyn, 2020). Her work bridges architectural theory, visual art, and urban cultural critique.
