Madina Tash is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Sussex Business School, where she has taught since 2011. She serves as Director of the Bloomberg Financial Markets Laboratory and previously led the Accounting and Finance Placement Program for five years. Her academic background includes a PhD in Corporate Finance from the University of Sussex, focusing on dividend theories, and postgraduate studies at Bayes Business School (City University). She holds a PG Cert in Teaching in Higher Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools.
Her research spans two domains: corporate finance (dividend policies, M&A, corporate governance) and pedagogical innovation (integrating UN SDGs into curricula). In 2020, she secured funding from the UK & Ireland PRME Chapter for developing SDG-aligned teaching methodologies. She currently champions UN SDG integration across the Business School’s policies and partnerships.
Madina’s teaching includes convening undergraduate finance modules, supervising Master’s students, and mentoring early-career researchers via the Junior Research Associate scheme. She has designed courses like Trading Strategies and Financial Institutions and Markets, emphasizing employability and experiential learning. Her certifications include Bloomberg Market Concepts and UN Climate Literacy.
She actively engages with industry, managing relationships with companies and serving on Pearson Publishing’s Advisory Board. Her recent work highlights employability equity, curriculum sustainability, and leveraging technology (e.g., Bloomberg Lab) for finance education.
