Madhavi Nevader is a Lecturer in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible at the School of Divinity, University of St Andrews, where she has been since 2014. Her research focuses on the intersection of political theory, ancient Near Eastern religious thought, and biblical texts.

Her primary research areas include kingship and messianism, Deuteronomy, Book of Ezekiel, and political theology in the Hebrew Bible. She explores how ancient texts conceptualize sovereignty, utopian ideals, and religious identity.
Her recent publications analyze Deuteronomic political utopias, Ezekiel's theological responses to exile, and comparative studies of annunciation motifs in Hebrew and Ancient Near Eastern traditions. These works engage with themes of divine authority, creation theology, and historical reception of biblical political models.

She supervises postgraduate research students and serves on the editorial board of 'Contributions to Biblical Exegesis & Theology'. She co-chairs the Deuteronomy Section at the Society of Biblical Literature.
