Dr Andrew Mein is a Senior Editor in the School of Divinity at the University of St Andrews, where he has been since 2020. He holds degrees from Oxford (MA, DPhil) and Edinburgh (MTh). His research focuses on the theology and ethics of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, particularly the books of Ezekiel and Psalms, and their reception in Christian and political contexts. He has held academic roles at Durham University, Westcott House (Cambridge), and the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies. Dr Mein is a founding editor of the Scriptural Traces series and co-chair of the Society of Biblical Literature's section on 'The Use, Influence and Impact of the Bible.' He teaches the course DI4711: Old Testament Special Topic: The Bible and War.

He has edited major series like the Library of Hebrew Bible/Old Testament Studies (2004–2021) and authored/co-authored works on Ezekiel, Psalms, and biblical reception history.
Dr Mein's publications analyze topics like the apocalyptic imagery in Ezekiel, the role of Psalms in propaganda during the First World War, and the ethical implications of biblical texts in military and political discourse. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary theological engagement, emphasizing the dynamic interplay between ancient texts and modern interpretations.
As an academic editor and scholar, he contributes to interdisciplinary conversations through his editorial roles and research collaborations. His PhD supervision focuses on topics related to biblical studies and reception history.
