معرفی
Madeline Parsons is a Professor of Cell Biology at King's College London, affiliated with the London Centre for Nanotechnology and the Randall Centre of Cell & Molecular Biophysics. Her research focuses on cell adhesion mechanisms, cytoskeleton dynamics, and their roles in cancer metastasis and fibrosis. She holds prestigious awards including Fellowships from the Academy of Medical Sciences and Royal Microscopical Society.
Education:
- Doctor of Philosophy (Biochemistry), UCL University College London (2000)
- Bachelor of Science (Biology), University of Bath (1996)
Her lab investigates how cell adhesion receptors control cytoskeletal remodeling and migration using advanced microscopy and molecular biology. Key themes include cancer metastasis, wound healing, and pathological processes like fibrosis. Current projects explore therapeutic targets for cancer, skin diseases, and lung inflammation.
Grants & Projects:
- UK Euro-BioImaging Node (BBSRC, 2025-2030)
- Multimodal functional tissue imaging (Wellcome Trust, 2024-2026)
- BioUK EDI equity initiatives (BBSRC, 2024-2025)
Current PhD students include Gorkem Ulkar, Leila Mouhib, and Yassmin Elmasry. Postdocs Dr. Bethany Bareham and Dr. Elena Ortiz Zapater contribute to ongoing research.
Labs & Collaborations:
Active collaborations span cancer biology, dermatology, and bioimaging. The Parsons Group leverages interdisciplinary approaches, including 3D cell culture and cutting-edge microscopy, to dissect cell migration mechanisms.
