Maddie Tremblett is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), specializing in qualitative research methods and healthcare communication. She is affiliated with the Health and Social Sciences (HAS) department and the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG).
Her research focuses on conversation analysis and risk communication in healthcare, particularly around sensitive topics such as HPV, cervical screening, obesity, and intellectual disability services. She completed her PhD at Plymouth University, studying multidisciplinary team collaboration in NHS Intellectual Disability Services, and later worked at the University of Oxford on doctor-patient interactions regarding risk communication.
She actively promotes patient and public engagement (PPI) as the lead for the NIHR-funded project "Understanding The Role Of Healthy Weight Coaches In The Weight Management System," a collaboration with the University of Oxford, University of Leeds, and Leeds Beckett University. She co-founded the Early Career Qualitative Health Researcher Network and serves as an event coordinator.
