Maciej Zakrzewski is an organist, composer, and improviser affiliated with the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he has been teaching in the Instrumental Department since 2011. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in instrumental studies and has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, collaborating with orchestras such as the Polish Baltic Philharmonic and the Progress Chamber Orchestra. His compositional work focuses on organ pieces and chamber orchestral pieces.
He has won several awards, including the Gryf Pomorski, Gdańsk City Award, and Splendor Gedanensis. Zakrzewski is also active in organizing music festivals like the Tczew Organ Evenings and 'graMY dla WAS.' He maintains a music blog and has released acclaimed albums such as 'Liszt & Widor organ works' and 'Naji Hakim – organ works.'
