Maartje Nevejan (she/her) is a documentary filmmaker and lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK), affiliated with the Master Non Linear Narrative program. With a career spanning over two decades, she has created films, TV series, art projects, and exhibitions, working internationally for networks like Al Jazeera.
Her research focuses on visualizing inner experiences through non-linear storytelling, inspired by phenomenological exploration. Since 2015, she has shifted from external investigative narratives to introspective works like her 2021 film Descending the Mountain, a sequel to Are you there?.
