Maartje Meijer

Maartje Meijer (b. 1985) is a Lecturer at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and an accomplished jazz musician. Effective September 1, 2024, she assumes the role of Associate Director and Head of Classical Music at the CvA.

Her career spans performance, composition, and leadership in music education. As a bandleader, she has performed at major venues including Bimhuis, Concertgebouw, and North Sea Jazz Festival, with international presence in Tallinn, Salzburg, New York, and collaborations with Matthew Herbert (UK).

Notable contributions include genre-transcending compositions for literary events such as the Joost Zwagerman Lecture and Haagse Literatuurprijzen.
