Maarit Jaakkola is an Associate Professor in journalism at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMG) at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where she also serves as Deputy Director at Nordicom. She holds additional affiliation with the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences at the University of Tampere, Finland. Her academic career spans both Swedish and Finnish institutions, reflecting her cross-border research focus on Nordic media landscapes.
