MaKayla Blevins is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department at Emory & Henry University, located at the Health Sciences Campus. She holds an MSN (2018) and BSN (2016) from King University, and an ADN (2013) from Virginia Appalachian Tricollege Nursing Program. Her clinical expertise spans medical-surgical nursing, orthopedics, neurology, home health, and oncology.
Her teaching focuses on healthcare simulation, emphasizing hands-on learning through simulated and standardized patient interactions. She has prior adjunct roles at Virginia Highlands Community College (2021-2022, 2018, 2021-present) and Southwest Virginia Community College (2018). She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANPCB) and actively involved in the American Nurses Association and Tennessee Nurses Association.
While not currently practicing as an NP, her career combines clinical experience with a passion for nursing education. She resides in Northeast Tennessee with her family and enjoys outdoor activities like fishing and travel.
