MARIA TERESA SANCHO ORTIZ

Maria Teresa Sancho Ortiz is a Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Food Science at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Burgos. Her work focuses on Nutrition and Food Science, particularly on honey quality, typification, and ageing. She leads research within the MIEL group and contributes to the UBU PhD program Avances en Ciencia y Biotecnología Alimentarias.

She earned her PhD at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, defending a thesis on honey production in the Basque region in 1990. Supervised by Dr. Jesús Simal Lozano and Dr. José Francisco Huidobro Canales, her research intersects food chemistry and nutritional analysis.
