MARIA DEL PILAR MARTINEZ AGUT

Maria del Pilar Martínez Agut is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences at the Universitat de València, Spain. She is affiliated with the Department of Theory of Education and conducts research within the ESDESOST Sustainability Studies group and the Inter-university Institute López Piñero.

Her research focuses on the theory and history of education, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmental awareness in teacher training. Key areas include pre-service teacher attitudes toward the environment, educational sustainability, and the integration of ecological values in pedagogy.

She earned her Ph.D. from the Universitat de València in 1999 with a dissertation on environmental attitudes among initial teacher training students in the Valencian Community, supervised by Dr. Juan Escámez Sánchez.

She is actively involved in academic research and thesis supervision, contributing to the development of sustainable educational practices. Her work is supported by institutional affiliations with recognized research groups focused on educational sustainability.
