Maria del Pilar Gomez Ramirez is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Murcia, affiliated with the Department of Sociosanitary Sciences under the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. She holds a PhD from the University of Murcia (2011), titled “The Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo) as a biomonitor of persistent environmental pollutants in southeastern Spain,” supervised by Dr. Antonio Juan García Fernández and Dr. Emma Martínez López.
Her research focuses on assessing exposure and effects of environmental pollutants in wildlife, particularly validating analytical methods for emerging contaminants. She leads the research group “Risk assessment of xenobiotics from a One Health perspective” and collaborates with the Toxicology and Risk Assessment Group. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to environmental and health risks.
Dr. Gomez Ramirez teaches across multiple programs, including Veterinary Medicine, Food Technology, Pharmacy, and Forensic Sciences, covering topics like toxicology, deontology, and environmental chemistry. She has taught at institutions such as the CEU Cardenal Herrera University (Valencia) and NTNU (Norway).
