معرفی
Marc-Antoine Bazin is a Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Nantes, affiliated with the Department of Medicinal Chemistry within the IICiMed Institute of Health Research. His research focuses on designing novel antifungal and antileishmanial agents, kinase inhibitors, and molecular chaperones for anti-infectious and antiproliferative applications, alongside heterocyclic series synthesis methodology. He has contributed to over 30 publications and holds a patent in the field.
Education & Qualifications:
- Habilitation to Supervise Research (2021)
- Lecturer in Therapeutic Chemistry, University of Nantes (2008–present)
- ATER in Therapeutic Chemistry and Pharmacology, University of Caen (2008)
- PhD in Chemistry (2007), Master’s in Pharmacy (2004), and Advanced Studies Diploma in Organic Chemistry (2004)
Research Interests: Dr. Bazin’s work emphasizes drug discovery for infectious diseases, particularly targeting kinases (e.g., casein kinase 1, Pim, CLK1) and molecular chaperones like Hsp90. His methods involve synthetic organic chemistry innovations, such as cross-coupling and SNAr reactions for heterocyclic compounds. Recent studies highlight imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine derivatives and benzofuran-based analogs for antileishmanial and anticancer applications.
Grants & Collaborations: Involved in projects like ANR TEILEISH and ANR AspergillusOne-Health, focusing on One Health approaches, bacterial resistance, and therapeutic targets. Collaborates internationally on drug susceptibility restoration (e.g., fluconazole resistance) and natural product-derived antimicrobials.
Labs & Teams: Active in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, contributing to interdisciplinary teams at the IICiMed Institute, which integrates drug development and evaluation with clinical research.
