Lynnette Leidy Sievert is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research focuses on biological anthropology, reproductive ecology, and evolutionary medicine, with a specialization in menopause and post-reproductive life. She has conducted studies across diverse global locations, including the U.S., Mexico, Slovenia, Paraguay, Bangladesh, the UK, India, and Mongolia. Her work explores menopausal age variation, midlife symptoms, and environmental factors like climate's impact on hot flashes. She currently investigates hot flashes in relation to brown adipose tissue.
Dr. Sievert is an elected Fellow of the AAAS and served on the Board of Trustees of the North American Menopause Society.
