Professor Lynne McPherson serves as Chair of Out of Home Care Research and Deputy Director of the Centre for Children and Young People at Southern Cross University's Faculty of Health. With over 25 years of experience in child protection and family services before transitioning to academia, her research focuses on therapeutic models in out-of-home care settings including foster care, kinship care, and residential care. Her current ARC Linkage Grant (2022-2024) examines relationships in therapeutic residential care.
