Lynne Barker

Lynne Barker is Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at Sheffield Hallam University's Centre for Behavioural Science and Applied Psychology. A world expert in brain function and neuropathology, she leads research on traumatic brain injury, dementia biomarkers, and neurotechnology development including the Automated Dementia Assistant (A.D.A) and CogLAB assessment tool.

Research focuses on four key areas:

• Retinal imaging for concussion diagnosis
• Executive function development and impairment
• Digital cognitive assessment/therapeutic tools
• Microbiome-neurological disorder relationships

Publications demonstrate consistent focus on neuropsychological assessment methodologies, with emphasis on eye-tracking applications and nutritional interventions. Recent work investigates emotion processing deficits and vitamin therapies in brain injury recovery.

Supervised 8 PhD students to completion in areas including virtual reality applications, nutritional interventions for TBI, and eyewitness testimony psychology.
