Lynn Urban

Dr. Lynn Urban is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology at the University of Central Missouri's Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri at St. Louis (2005), an M.A. from the same institution (2001), and a B.S. in Anthropology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (1991). Her research focuses on parenting programs for incarcerated individuals, human trafficking, and juvenile justice systems. She has held administrative roles including Interim Assistant Dean (2022) and Leadership Team member of the Harmon College (2014-current).

Research interests include innovative corrections education, juvenile justice policy, and victim-offender mediation. Administrative service highlights include chairing UCM's Academic Council (2017-2019) and serving on the Missouri Citizens Advisory Board for Corrections (2011-20221). Public service includes roles on the Fort Osage Career & Technology Center Advisory Board and external program reviews for institutions like the University of Tennessee at Martin (2023).
