Lynn Smith is an Assistant Professor of Speech Pathology and Audiology at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), affiliated with the School of Education and the Department of Special Education, Language, and Literacy. Her expertise spans speech and hearing science, audiology, and the education of the deaf.

Dr. Smith's research focuses on auditory assessment, acoustic phonetics, and speech physiology, with applications in special education. Her professional contributions include developing a major in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and serving on disciplinary standards committees. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology.
Notable awards include the TCNJ Order of Omega Outstanding Professor Award (2011), recognition as one of The Hearing Journal's top audiology contributors (2000), and a 2017 appreciation day by TCNJ's National Student Speech Language Hearing Association chapter. She was appointed to ASHA's Board of Ethics in 2023.
Dr. Smith has taught courses such as Acoustic Phonetics, Anatomy & Physiology of Speech & Hearing Mechanisms, and Audiological Assessment and Management of Hearing Loss. Her career includes roles as a research associate at City University of New York (1985-1996) and teaching positions in K-12 schools (1976-1984).
