Dr. Lynn Badia is an Associate Professor of English at Colorado State University (CSU), affiliated with the CSU Energy Institute and the CSU Center for Environmental Justice. Her work bridges science studies, literary studies, environmental humanities, and energy humanities, emphasizing transdisciplinary approaches to climate science and justice. She holds a B.A. from Pomona College and a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Her research focuses on scenario narratives, climate science communication, and energy transitions. A notable contribution is her 2021 co-authored paper in Earth’s Future, which influenced President Biden’s $400M climate research proposal. She has presented widely at institutions like Princeton University, the U.S. National Academies, and the University of Cambridge.
Dr. Badia’s publications include books like Climate Realism (2020) and articles in interdisciplinary journals such as American Quarterly and Cultural Studies. Her teaching spans environmental literature, posthumanism, and energy humanities, with courses like “Climate Fiction” and “Hackles Raised: On Being Close to Animals.”
