معرفی
Lynn Adler is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research focuses on plant-animal interactions, particularly how floral traits mediate relationships between plants, pollinators, and antagonists. She integrates ecological and evolutionary approaches to study mutualisms and antagonisms across multiple trophic levels, with recent emphasis on bee-pathogen dynamics.
Education:
- B.S., Brown University, 1993
- Ph.D., University of California at Davis, 2000
- Postdoctoral Research, University of Arizona, 2000-2001
Research Interests: Lynn investigates the ecology and evolution of plant defenses and attractants, particularly how floral traits influence bee health and pathogen transmission. Her work bridges basic and applied systems, addressing both fundamental ecological questions and practical applications for pollinator conservation and agriculture.
Lab & Collaborations: The Adler Lab at UMass studies plant-pollinator interactions, with projects funded by NSF and other grants. Key collaborations include work with Becky Irwin (NC State University) on pollinator health and pathogen dynamics.
Advisees & Outreach: Lynn mentors graduate and undergraduate students in research, emphasizing science communication through innovative programs like 'Science Poetry.' Her lab also engages in extension activities promoting sustainable beekeeping practices and pollinator-friendly agriculture.
