Lynette Cronin is a Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Wollongong, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. She has held this position since 2021, focusing on early childhood education, literacy, and transitions across educational stages.
Dr. Cronin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (2011–2016) from the University of Wollongong, specializing in literacy education and transition-to-school dynamics. Her research explores play-based pedagogies, technology integration in learning environments, and the role of literacy in educational transitions. Recent projects include investigating STEM transitions at the university level and developing play-based learning models for early primary education.
Her work emphasizes holistic learning strategies to ensure continuity between early childhood settings and formal schooling. She has contributed to projects funded by the University of Wollongong’s Early Career Research Grant, examining technology practices among youth during life transitions. Current supervision focuses on sustainability education through visual arts and self-regulated learning in higher education.
Lynette is an active member of the Australian Literacy Educators' Association (ALEA), presenting on school readiness and transition issues. She has collaborated on initiatives like mentorship programs connecting universities with early childhood institutions, enhancing partnership-based learning.
