Lynelle Watts is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Curtin School of Allied Health. Her research spans social work theory, critical reflection pedagogy, disability rights, and responses to family violence. She co-authored foundational texts on social justice theory in social work and critical philosophical perspectives for practice.
Education includes PhD and BSW Honours (First Class). She teaches social work theory, social justice, and community practice across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Research investigates social work responses to violence disclosures, decolonial approaches to practice, and reflective pedagogies. Current projects include developing social justice frameworks for curriculum design and examining workforce responses to violence against women with disabilities.
Watts serves as Social Media Editor for Australian Social Work journal and Treasurer for ANZSWWER.
