Lyndsey McDougall is a Lecturer in Art & Design History and Theory at the Belfast School of Art, Ulster University. Her research focuses on textile material culture, particularly religious and masonic embroidery in Ireland from 1750 to 2023, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through education and cultural preservation.
- Education: PhD in Narratives of Agency and Material Culture of Embroidery, MA in Design Textile Material Product, BA Hons Fine and Applied Arts.
Her work explores intersections of craft, Irish art, and historical revival movements. Recent research outputs include studies on the Dun Emer Guild and Linenopolis heritage projects.
Advising: Supervises PhD researcher Louise McGowan.
