Dr. Lydia S. Navarro-Walker is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Widener University's College of Health and Human Services. She holds a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Thomas Jefferson University (2016), a BS in Occupational Therapy from Misericordia University (1992), and an AAS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Puerto Rico (1982).
Her research focuses on Emotional Intelligence in graduate occupational therapy students, Trauma-Informed Care for domestic violence and intimate partner violence (DV/IPV) survivors, and the impact of doctoral-level education on the occupational therapy profession. She collaborates with a Montgomery County domestic violence shelter to develop fieldwork programs, volunteer initiatives, and student capstone projects. She has also contributed to AOTA committees and advocates for diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) in healthcare.
