Dr. Lydia Milly Certa is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Sustainability Fellow at the Institute for Sustainability within the University of Surrey's Surrey Business School. Her academic affiliation includes the Department of Digital Economy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She holds a PhD from Surrey Business School, with prior education including a BA and MA from the University of Milan (Italy) and Chinese language studies at Beijing Language and Culture University and Tianjin Normal University (China).
Her research focuses on Sustainability and Climate Change governance, particularly the role of discourse and emotions in multistakeholder processes. She explores institutional theory, fake news mitigation, and delegitimation phenomena on social media platforms. Her work examines how emotions influence engagement in global challenges like Climate Change, leveraging COP meetings as case studies.
Dr. Certa has published works on fake news dynamics during the pandemic and emotional regulation strategies in institutional contexts. She teaches Business Ethics (MAND1090) and contributes to the Centre of Digital Economy. Her research also intersects with Sinology, reflecting her expertise in Sino-Western comparative studies.
