Professor Stelvia Matos is an Associate Professor and Reader in Social Innovation Management and Sustainable Management at Surrey Business School, University of Surrey. She heads the Centre for Social Innovation Management and serves as co-editor-in-chief of Technovation. Her work focuses on the interplay between social, environmental, and economic factors in innovation dynamics, with particular emphasis on addressing global challenges such as climate change, sustainable supply chains, and poverty reduction in developing economies.
Her research employs exploratory grounded theory and case study methods, contributing to both academic journals and practitioner-oriented publications. Key areas of investigation include the paradoxes of sustainable innovation, the role of institutions in low-income entrepreneurial contexts, and the development of frameworks for integrating social factors into engineering and business education.
