Dr. Lydia L. Jennings is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies at Dartmouth College and holds the E.E. Just Early Career Faculty Fellowship. Her research focuses on soil health, environmental remediation, Indigenous science, and science communication. She is a citizen of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe (Yoeme) and Huichol (Wixáritari), integrating Indigenous knowledge into her work.

- B.S. in Environmental Science, Technology, and Policy (California State University, Monterey Bay, 2012)
- A.S. in Biology (Cabrillo Community College, 2008)
Her research emphasizes Indigenous data sovereignty, environmental justice, and bridging scientific and community-based approaches. She has received numerous accolades, including the 2023 Women in Science Incentive Prize and recognition as an “Environmental Sports Champion” by the Lewis Pugh Foundation.
Dr. Jennings teaches courses such as Resource Extraction & Indigenous Led Solutions and advocates for representation in outdoor recreation. She collaborates with the Emanuel Lab at Duke University and maintains active postdoctoral ties to Arizona State University and Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment.
