Lydia Fort is an Associate Professor of Theater Studies and Resident Director of Theater Emory at Emory University. She holds a BA from New York University, an MFA in Directing, and a Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Washington. Her work spans directing, playwriting, and arts leadership.

Research & Practice: Fort specializes in directing and creating performance works exploring identity, culture, illness, and the body. Her pieces include *Welcome to My Body* and *S/HE*. She co-founded Akadēmeia Theatre Company, emphasizing interdisciplinary performance. Her work has been showcased at venues like Cygnet Theatre, Diversionary Theatre, and festivals such as New Black Fest and Fire This Time Festival.
