Luvell Edwin Anderson is a Professor of Philosophy and affiliate of the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory at the University of Illinois. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from Rutgers University (2011). His research focuses on the philosophy of language, particularly slurs, insults, humor, and their intersection with race and social politics. He has co-edited major works like The Oxford Handbook of Applied Philosophy of Language (2024) and The Routledge Companion to the Philosophy of Race (2017).
