Lutfi Ozyuzer

Prof. Lutfi Ozyuzer is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at Izmir Institute of Technology (IYTE), Turkey. With a career spanning over three decades, he has held academic ranks from Assistant Professor (2000–2004) to Associate Professor (2004–2011), and currently serves as a full Professor since 2011. His research focuses on superconductivity, terahertz technology, metamaterials, and thin-film materials science. He leads the Terahertz Research Group at IYTE, exploring applications in security, communication, and biomedical imaging.

Research Interests: Prof. Ozyuzer’s work bridges fundamental physics and applied engineering. Key areas include:

• Design of terahertz sources/detectors using high-temperature superconductors (e.g., Bi2212)
• Metamaterials for wavefront engineering and dynamic coding of THz waves
• Thin film deposition techniques (sputtering, evaporation) for solar cells and EMI shielding
• Material characterization of vanadium dioxide (VO2) and lithium-ion battery materials
