Luna K C is an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) within the Faculty of Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences and Humanities, affiliated with the Gender Studies and Global and International Studies departments. She earned her PhD and MA in International Development Studies from Wageningen University, focusing on conflict, security, disaster, and public policy.

Her research focuses on gender dynamics in armed conflict, disaster management, and the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, particularly in South Asia. She examines how gender norms and intersectional inequalities shape conflict, peacebuilding, and disaster response, with regional expertise in Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Publications highlight trends such as feminist critiques of cybersecurity frameworks, pandemic impacts on gender equality, and the localization of WPS agendas in the Global South. Her work bridges academic and practical experience from roles at McGill University and organizations like Plan International.
