Lulu Chen is a Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her work focuses on catalytic processes for sustainable energy applications, particularly CO2 conversion and hydrogenation reactions. She specializes in computational modeling of catalytic systems involving transition metals and reducible oxide supports.
Her research interests include understanding reaction mechanisms at the atomic scale, optimizing catalyst design through multiscale modeling, and exploring synergistic effects between metal nanoparticles and support materials. Key applications include CO2 hydrogenation to methane, reverse water-gas shift reactions, and selective oxidation processes.
Her recent studies have employed density functional theory (DFT) and multiscale simulations to investigate Ru-doped CeO2 surfaces, Ni clusters on TiO2 supports, and Au-Mn-Cu synergies in catalytic systems. These contributions advance the development of efficient catalysts for energy storage and environmental remediation.
Lulu has published 8 peer-reviewed articles in journals like ACS Catalysis and Catalysis Science & Technology, with notable citations in her field. She is also involved in teaching the Advanced thermodynamics and kinetics course at TU/e.
