Dr. Luke Tripp is a Professor in the Department of Ethnic, Gender, and Women’s Studies at St. Cloud State University, where he has been affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts since his PhD from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. His work bridges academic scholarship with decades of activism in social justice movements, including the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), the Black Panther Party, and global anti-imperialist struggles. His research focuses on racial hierarchy, white supremacy’s structural role, and historical analyses of Black community organizing. While his most recent 2025 publication critiques the racialized state’s foundational mechanisms, his earlier works span topics like immigrant demographics, Reagan-era student politics, and the professionalization of activism.
