John F. Tripp, Jr. is an Assistant Professor at Clemson University’s Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business. His research spans information technology’s impact on human behavior at individual, group, and societal levels, with a focus on privacy in social networks, agile software development, and technology’s role in organizational dynamics. He has taught courses in business analytics and information systems, including for Clemson’s Master of Science in Data Analytics program.
- Education: Ph.D. in Information Technology Management (2012) and MBA (2005) from Michigan State University, and a Master of Music (1993) and Bachelor of Music (1991) from Rice and Cleveland Institute of Music, respectively.
Tripp’s recent work examines symbolic capital in academic publishing, gender/ethnic homophily in corporate networks, and technology’s influence on trust and emotional states. His publications span journals like Decision Support Systems, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and conferences such as AMCIS and ICIS.
He has received multiple accolades, including the Early Career Award (2016) and Best Reviewer Awards from IT project management workshops. His editorial service includes roles at Communications of the AIS and European Journal of Information Systems.
