معرفی
Dr. Luke Louca is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London, Faculty of Engineering. He is affiliated with the Structures group and the Composites Centre, focusing on structural integrity under extreme loading conditions.
His research centers on the behavior and design of structures subjected to explosions, with particular emphasis on steel and composite materials used in offshore, civil, and defense applications. His work combines computational modeling with experimental validation, including small-scale laboratory tests and large-scale field trials conducted in collaboration with sponsors.
Dr. Louca teaches structural steel design and blast effects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research is supported by funding from EPSRC, Dstl/MoD, the Health and Safety Executive, and the Office of Naval Research (USA). He currently supervises a number of PhD students in related areas.
He is actively involved in experimental and numerical investigations into dynamic structural response, contributing to advancements in protective design and safety standards. His interdisciplinary work bridges civil, mechanical, and materials engineering domains.
