Luke Davis is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Tufts University, affiliated with the School of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on inorganic and materials chemistry with societal applications, including zero-emissions ironmaking, photovoltaic materials, and superconductors. He holds a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2014) and completed postdoctoral research at Harvard University.
Key research areas include developing ammonia-based iron synthesis to reduce CO2 emissions, exploring sulfide-based photovoltaic absorbers, and investigating hydride superconductors. He leads the Davis Laboratory, which has produced notable publications and secured grants, including a National Science Foundation award (2022-2025).
Notable achievements include the Beckman Young Investigator Finalist recognition (2021), ACS Outstanding Reviewer Award (2019), and Merrin Faculty Fellowship (2018-2019). He teaches advanced inorganic chemistry, synthetic labs, and physical methods courses at Tufts.
