معرفی
Dr. Luke Carpenter-Bundhoo is a Research Fellow at the Australian Rivers Institute (ARI) within Griffith University. His expertise lies in freshwater ecology, focusing on flow regimes, environmental flows, and aquatic biomonitoring. He holds a PhD from Griffith University (2015–2019) and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from the University of Queensland (2009–2013). His research addresses the impacts of altered hydrology on fish populations, particularly in post-bushfire ecosystems and endangered species conservation.
Key projects include studies on the Mary River cod, Australian lungfish, and lampreys, with a focus on habitat restoration and species recovery. He has led or contributed to over 20 funded projects, including grants from the National Environmental Science Program and Seqwater. Dr. Carpenter-Bundhoo collaborates extensively with government agencies and industry partners to advance conservation strategies in Australian river systems.
His work has been featured in major news outlets for breakthroughs such as the 'logs for cods' initiative, which enhanced habitats for endangered species. He supervises doctoral students on topics like fish health, hydro-ecological factors, and macrophyte habitats. His research integrates innovative methods like bio-telemetry and citizen science to address ecological challenges.
