Dr. Luke Burns is an Associate Professor in Quantitative Human Geography at the School of Geography, University of Leeds. He joined the academic staff in 2013 and currently serves as the Director of Taught Postgraduate Student Education and Programme Leader for the BA Geography with Quantitative Methods undergraduate programme. His research and teaching focus on geodemographics, composite indicators, GIS applications, and data literacy in socioeconomic contexts.

- Professional Memberships: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Society for Location Analysis (Advisory Board)
Research Interests: Applied development of geodemographic classification systems and composite indicators for policy implementation, with applications in health, education, and housing. Current projects examine loneliness/social isolation impacts on wellbeing and Modern Methods of Construction in addressing housing crises.
